The included AK-TC5026 thermal paste was a specifically chosen for its formula to be used within Akasa fanless cases. Consideration for high thermal conductivity is not the only property when considering the best thermal compound for Akasa fanless cases. The AK-TC5026 properties of ultra-thin bond lines, low-thermal resistance for superior thermal performance, and non-pressure dependency makes the AK-TC5026 the qualified TIM for use with Akasa fanless cases.

The key difference is that the "A1B" version is the branded version with the Akasa logo on the front panel of the case. Whereas the "M1B" version is the unbranded version, i.e. without the Akasa logo.

The USB ports are connected via extension/pass-through USB cables which are USB 3.1 Gen 1 standard. USB 3.1 Gen 2 devices will revert to USB 3.1 Gen 1 standard once connected.

Yes, the infrared sensor can be used once the NUC is installed in the Plato X8. There is a light tube present in the Plato X8 chassis which extends the IR sensor on the NUC mainboard to the front of the case.

The Plato X8 chassis has an opening for the DC-plug at the rear of the NUC mainboard for easy access once installed inside the case. The Akasa 65W NUC power adapter (Product code: AK-PD065-01M) and the power adapter supplied by Intel with the NUC are both compatible with the Plato X8.

The micro SD memory card slot can be used. But once the NUC board is installed inside the case with the panels installed - the SD card is not readily accessible.
