The included AK-TC5026 thermal paste was a specifically chosen for its formula to be used within Akasa fanless cases. Consideration for high thermal conductivity is not the only property when considering the best thermal compound for Akasa fanless cases. The AK-TC5026 properties of ultra-thin bond lines, low-thermal resistance for superior thermal performance, and non-pressure dependency makes the AK-TC5026 the qualified TIM for use with Akasa fanless cases.

From our own internal testing of the Plato X7 case and the NUC7i7BNH found they can work. BUT subject to BIOS setting and system loading to regulate the CPU. If you intend to use it at maximum 100% on CPU and GPU for sustained periods of time then it does get very hot and may shutdown, hence why we have not included the Core i7 (NUC7i7BNH) in our compatibility list on our website. If interested, please contact us directly (support email: sales@akasa.co.uk) and we can offer further instructions on the BIOS settings if needed.

Currently only the Kit SKUs including those listed on our website, namely - NUC7i5BNH / NUC7i5BNK / NUC7i3BNH / NUC7i3BNK, have the microphone array installed inside the stock Intel case. The stock array cable is uninstalled from the stock Intel case and installed inside the Akasa case if the microphone function is used.

The SD memory card slot can be used. But once the NUC board is installed inside the case and the panels installed - the SD card is not readily accessible.

The key difference is that the "A1B" version is the branded version with the Akasa logo on the front panel of the case. Whereas the "M1B" version is the unbranded version, i.e. without the Akasa logo.
